A New Fan

Postby bblips » Sat Jul 31, 2010 8:01 pm

Just read your Jeopardy history online (Wiki) and I am very impressed. My mom who passed away on 12/1/08 was a big fan of Jeopardy and a big fan of Ken Jennings. I returned as a Jeopardy fan because of her; she never missed an episode and I watched with her because I was her primary caregiver the last few years of her life. I did not watch your reign on Jeopardy but I did see your appearances on other shows like 1- 100 and Smarter Than A 5th Grader. Still I had no idea of your accomplishments until I read your bio on Wiki. What impressed me the most however was the tithe you stated you were making to your church and ultimately to God. What a wonderful inspiration you are to people everywhere. Tithing is also one of the ordinances my church also requires as stated in the Bible and I have heard some people being critical of giving what they feel is a very large percentage of income to the church; in reality ten percent is nothing in comparison to what God gives to us in blessings every moment of the day. I don't mean to sound so "preachy" but I just had to comment on how you have inspired me to rededicate myself to the principle of tithing and to have faith in the grace of God to continue to provide my daily needs.

Thank you and may God continue to bless and enrich your life.

Like bblips, I also missed the Ken Jennings reign on Jeopardy, and only recently discovered the book Brainiacs. What a relief to know that Jay Leno's Jaywalkers aren't the only people walking around out there.

I'm not sure how to get messages on the Message Board. I've tried several ways and nothing has worked so far. Maybe I'm just too dumb for this web site but hopefully not. In any case, I'll keep reading what others have to say. Finally, some intelligent conversation!
