An Oscar trivia question

According to a certain film star's biography page at IMDB, there are five performers who have been nominated for acting Oscars in five different decades.

In alphabetical order, they are:

(1) Male, nominated in 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s
(2) Female, nominated in 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 80s (not 70s)
(3) Male, nominated in 1950s, 60s, 80s, 90s, 2000s (not 70s)
(4) Male, nominated in 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s
(5) Male, nominated in 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s

Can you name them?

I can tell you who's not on these lists. Meryl Streep, given her track record, would join the list in the 2010s. Same with Dustin Hoffman, who could have theoretically joined the list this year if he'd done any movie projects. Spencer Tracy's 9 nominations are dispersed over three decades: 1930s, 1950s, 1960s. Bette Davis is a little more successful, having also been nominated in the 1940s in a similar time frame. Peter O'Toole, who missed out in the 1990s, would have to stick around a few more years to get his 5th decade.

The two obvious names (often mentioned with Streep in nomination totals) would be #2 and #4 on your alphabetical list. I'm curious as to the others.

I think I have these right.....

1. Michael Caine
2. Katherine Hepburn
3. Paul Newman
4. Jack Nicholson
5. Laurence Olivier

I did not consult IMDB for this, only my own database of trivia knowledge.

That is correct. (And to be completely honest, I just got the info from a biography at IMDB, and didn't compare with lists of Oscar nominations to make sure it's correct. But the fact that mavman's answers agree with mine is good evidence in favor of the correctness of the answers.)
