Has anyone ever ended up going insane trying to figure out #7's, or will I be the first?

That's why I stopped submitting my quizzes on a regular basis. Trust me, it's a lot more fun when you don't take it seriously.

Probably so - but I have a competitive streak in me a mile wide! Truly, I've been praying a lot about something else (my brother is in the ICU from an accident), and I had a lightbulb go off over my head about a good possibility for this week. So, now it's up to the graders!

Actually, it's most fun if you can somehow manage to care passionately about the questions whose answers you know, and not at all about the ones you don't.

(PS best to your brother...hope he's okay.)

Even though I don't submit answers anymore, I still "play" and I'm still incredibly challened by #7s in particular.... I've filled up a couple of legal pads making lists in an effort to figure them out.

Yeah, I care that I think I know four. Other than that, it's all for fun.

I understand about caring passionately about those you know - those are the fun questions. As somewhat of a overachiever, though, I like to expand my world by learning about the questions I don't know. I usually will google them afterwards to see what I've been missing.

It's like doing crosswords, logic problems, or such - I go straight to the hard ones, then go backwards. I'd rather do not as well at a "hard" problem than ace an easy one.

BTW, my brother's still in ICU. He's stabilized, but it may be a while before we can even get him transferred to this end of the state. He was once a world-class rockclimber, forgot his age  and fell. He knew enough to land on his feet, but pitched forward and broke some ribs, which punctured his spleen. Which is probably TMI for y'all but his "baby sisters" will always worry about their "big brother"!

From the newest quiz rec'd this am:
This turned out to be even tougher than I'd planned--
maybe I should have left the states in chronological
order as an added hint.

No! It was perfect. My mind was seeing something in the superlative vein but just not quite getting there, and seeing the solution made it a head slapper for me. I think chrono would've made it too obvious for me and since I've only gotten two #7's so far, any 7 I can get is to easy, and you'd probably still have the log jam.

BTW, on another note and to jump topic slightly, permit me add a "Best wishes" for your brother, Melissa.
