You dirty rat...see?

I think the pressure of the Tuesday Trivia grind is messing with Ken's head. When he says "see" in talking about Jimmy Cagney's appearance in "Ragtime," I think he's inadvertently channeling Edward G. Robinson. Or Biggy Rat.
Cagney once joked that he never said "You dirty rat." He was the guy who said "Judy, Judy, Judy."

What? In my head that sounded like Cagney doing an Edward G. Robinson impression. Maybe it doesn't work so well on the page.

Yeah, Ken had an excuse, see?

Personally, I thought it was Cagney doing a Chief Wiggum impersonation (here, about 55 seconds in).

I don't associate "see" with any particular actor, but just as a general tough-guy thing. The Dead End/East Side/Bowery kid-boys said it all the time, e.g. "we're not buying that pie-in-the-sky bit anymore, see" in Angels with Dirty Faces.

Yeah, I think of it as a pretty general 1930s style voice, not necessarily strongly associated with any one particular individual.
