Avril Phædra Douglas "Kim" Campbell (born March 10, 1947), PC CC OBC QC, is a Canadian politician, lawyer, university professor, diplomat, and writer. She served as the 19th Prime Minister of Canada, from June 25, 1993 to November 4, 1993. Campbell was the first, and to date, only female Prime Minister of Canada, the first baby boomer to hold that office, and the only Prime Minister born in British Columbia.

You got that this wasn't a complete list, right? Just the "first" such nations? First eight, I think.

You would have been OK on that if you hadn't put in Iceland Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir became Iceland's first female Prime Minister and the world's first openly lesbian head of government on 1 February 2009

The reference in the Question Seven was not to Johanna Sigurdardottir, but to Vigdis Finnbogadottir, president from 1980-1996 and the first woman elected president of any country of the world.

But it turns out that Iceland's president, while the elected head of state, is not the head of government. So the answer shouldn't have read "non-hereditary world leaders"...I didn't realize I'd let a non-head of government onto the list.

Canada was nowhere close to appearing on the list, incidentally...there were like 10 countries with a female prime minister between Finnbogadottir and Kim Campbell.

Ugh, I specifically checked this when I realized that Dominica and Iceland were so close together (about a week, I remember). I wonder how I ended up screwing it up. Either the source I looked at was wrong or my math was just bad!
