What better way to celebrate 2018 than looking back at 2017? There are lots of ways? Oh.

Below -- separated into two posts for image posting reasons -- are Funko Pop! figures of 20 characters who represent 20 different movies released in U.S. theaters in 2017. Can you identify the movies?

I'm pleased that many of these could be identified. Bill got #1, 2, 6, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20 correct. rockgolf got #16.

Still unsolved are the following, now with hints:

3. Some reviews described her space warrior character as having Han Solo-type swagger, so I put her next to Harrison Ford.

4. The G on the skintight suit is also the first letter of this animated character's name.

5. I think she's supposed to remind you of a young Sigourney Weaver.

7. Animated character, children's book adaptation, tighty whities.

8. He might say that the figure designers should have tried harder to stroke his massive... beard.

9. Black gunslinger. Interdimensional western(?)

12. Non-Asian in Asian role. Asians displeased.

15. American actor plays the title character in a non-American, mostly French sci-fi production.

Bill, themanwho, and jbenz solve 5 more. After 2 weeks, it's time to wrap this up.

Answers:

Spoiler: show
1. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (Jack Black)
2. Blade Runner 2049 (Harrison Ford)
3. Thor: Ragnarok (Tessa Thompson)
4. Despicable Me 3 (Steve Carell)
5. Alien: Covenant (Katherine Waterston)
6. War for the Planet of the Apes (Andy Serkis)
7. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (Ed Helms)
8. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Kurt Russell)
9. The Dark Tower (Idris Elba)
10. Spider-Man: Homecoming (Robert Downey Jr.)
11. The Boss Baby (Alec Baldwin)
12. Ghost in the Shell (Scarlett Johansson)
13. Beauty and the Beast (Luke Evans)
14. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Laura Dern)
15. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (Dane DeHaan)
16. Justice League (Jason Momoa)
17. Wonder Woman (Connie Nielsen)
18. John Wick: Chapter 2 (Keanu Reeves)
19. The Mummy (Sofia Boutella)
20. Kong: Skull Island (Terry Notary and Toby Kebbell)

A mild apology regarding #17. One of the reasons I picked Hippolyta instead of Diana was because of Justice League, but I hadn't realized Hippolyta was also in both movies.

I want to make it clear that each one of these was a Funko Pop! figure released in connection with a 2017 movie. Even #18 is from the 2017 sequel, not the 2014 original. There were actually two I left off: IT, because I wanted to spare you a scary clown, and Bright, because it was a barely-released Netflix movie.

Whether I can do another one of these in the future for 2018, or any given year, depends on how many figures Funko wants to put out. Add in all the figures from TV and other pop culture, and it's kind of a glut right now.
