Patrick Dempsey, megastar?

The place to talk. "On topic"? "Off topic"? We make no such petty distinctions here.

Patrick Dempsey, megastar?

That's stretching just a bit, don't you think?

What is perhaps more interesting/amazing is how Joss Whedon manages to make hit tv series out of failed movies (Buffy) and feature films out of failed tv series (Firefly/Serenity).

The kids love the Grey's Anatomy. Patrick is back!

Plus it doesn't take much to outshine Robert Romanus.

Anybody remember (no Googling!) what the John Lithgow/Bruce Davison movie/sitcom combo is?

Ah, thus my confusion. As a non-TV watcher except for J!, LOST, and Veronica Mars, the last time I recall seeing Patrick Dempsey in anything was in Can't Buy Me Love.

Intriguingly, IMDB reveals that he was cast as Will in the apparently never-picked-up TV version of About a Boy, by far my favorite movie comedy of the past decade.

It's gotta be 'Harry and the Hendersons'. I can't think of another Lithgow movie turned sitcom.

With that giant Ken head still up for grabs, I'd be wary of asking that question. :)

He was in Sweet Home Alabama as Reese Witherspoon's fiance Andrew.
