Bob Dole would have made the list if he had served a term as President.

Wait, are you sure about that?

If Bob Dole had won in the fall of 1996 and served one full term, his time in office would not have perfectly paralleled that of John Adams, who was elected in the fall of 1796 and served one full term...

True, but he'd still have made the list for the same reason as Adams.

Dole would have been sworn in on January 20, 1997.

And his term would have ended on January 20, 2001. So his term would have contained the entire calendar year of 2000.

There was an important difference between 2000 and 1800.

You're right! I forgot about that particular loophole.

Dole would not have been on the list. (Unless it was for other reasons...)
