The place to talk. "On topic"? "Off topic"? We make no such petty distinctions here.

Pascal & Engineers v Architects

Pascal: “It is much better to know something about everything than everything about something.”

Reminds me of this statement, but I have heard both X and Y being named as Architects, and vice versa for Engineers:

An X is said to be a person who knows a great deal about very little and who goes along knowing more and more about less and less until finally they know practically everything about nothing.

A Y, on the other hand, is a person who knows a very little about a great deal and keeps knowing less and less about more and more until they knows practically nothing about everything.
