Hunger Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones/ A Song of Ice and Fire and The Hunger Games (THG books - not necessarily the movies) have something particularly tasteless in common. What is it?

I'll give you a hint. It's literally tasteless.

The disadvantage of a mostly dead message board is that everyone gets uptight and impatient. Come to think of it, that's true of all message boards.

I can't speak for Game of Thrones stuff because fantasy is dumb, but today's hint reminds me that
Spoiler: show
The Hunger Games books include the Avox, servants with their tongues cut out.

(ETA: Changed "stupid" to "dumb" to preserve the punchline. Sorry.)
